(b. 1958, USA) Budd was born on an Army base in Heidelberg, Germany way back in 1958 (the same year Famous Monsters of Filmland was born); it was a good year for monsters. There were four major influences in his young life. First, the aforementioned mag. Second, he had a loving grandfather who was a master story teller, specializing in the fantastic and heroic. Thirdly, the Beatles made a huge impact on the young Budd. And lastly, in a little corner store he stumbled across an art form that, with a little imagination, could involve all other influences and much, much more: comic books. All these early influences stayed with him through the turbulent years of growing up and are as strong as ever today. Except now he's encountered an influence that is the most precious of all, and made his career in comics possible. "The lovely Leslie, my Yoko (Only 'cause 've she's a big part of the Basement Band, and the Band won't be bustin' up)" Now, with the help of comic fans, CAVEWOMAN is more popular than ever. Hey, what can Budd say? With such great influences, life is wonderful.
